He earned many career accolades throughout his life, including beig featured as one of Rolling Stone magazine’s greatest guitarists of all time, as well as “one of the most influential” in the rock genre. He also went on to earn a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance six times and Best Pop Instrumental Performance once, as well as the British Academy’s Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music. Naturally, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame not once, but twice: first as a as a member of the Yardbirds back in 1992, and then as a solo artist in 2009.
