Story: Gurunath (Gautham Vasudev Menon) is a gangster in Mumbai. He gets rescued by a small kid Michael (Sundeep Kishan) from a murder attack. Gurunath asks his henchman Swamy (Ayappa Sharma) to raise Michael. Later, Gurunadh sends Michael to Delhi on an assignment. What is assignment? How is Teera’s ( Divyanshu Kaushik) father interlinked with it? Will Michael finish the assignment? What is Michael’ main goal in his life? To get these answers, one should watch the movie Michael on silver screen.
· Sundeep Kishan
· Lead pair chemistry
· Slow paced narration
· No emotional connect
Performance: Sundeep Kishan has given his best performance Michael. The actor’ hard work for thisrole in visible on screen. His makeover with a ripped body looks good on the screen. Sundeep performed risky action stunts with dedication. He doesn’t have many dialogues in the movie but yet he leaves his mark. The lead pair’s chemistry is good. Divyansha Kaushik gets a good role. Vijay Sethupathi and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar impress the viewers in their short cameos. Gautham Vasudev Menon gets a meaty role in the film. Anasuya Bharadwaj doesn’t get anything new to do. The rest of the cast of Michael perform accordingly.
Technical: Director Ranjith has come up with a weak story line. Writing department failed to come up with an engaging narrative and the rich visuals can’t keep viewers invested in this film. The background score and visuals are top-notch in this film Michael. The production values are superb. Sam CS does a terrific job. The haunting background score enhanced the feel at a few junctures. The movie Michael is filled with many boring moments. Editing by R Sathyanarayan is just ok.
Analysis: Overall Michael is an average gangster drama. You can give it a try.
