Plus Points:
· Aadi Sai Kumar
· Performance
· First half
Minus points:
· Second half
· Climax ends in jiffy
· Routine story
Performance: Aadi Sai Kumar shows a lot of maturity in this film Top Gear and impresses everyone with his performnace. He gets a restless role and justifies with it. Riya Suman as the female lead is decent in the film. Satru as the cop is decent. Satyam Rajesh and Brahmaji are neat in their cameos. Mime Gopi who plays the role of villain Siddharth, has also done similar roles in the past. The rest of the cast of Top Gear perform accordingly.
Technical: Coming to the work of director Sashikanth, he has done a good job with the film. The film has routine story. The real story starts when the bag containing drugs comes into Arjun’s cab. From there screenplay moves rapidly. The twists are impressive. It is not difficult to predict some of the twists. The two hours long runtime is a big plus point. Showing the villain more powerful than the hero makes the movie more interesting. Background score is very important for a thriller. Harshavardhan Rameshwar music is good. Sai Sriram’s cinematography is good. The. entire film happens at night and the locations have been beautifully showcased in this thriller. The editing is decent.
Analysis: Overall Top Gear is an interesting crime thriller drama with interesting thrills. The first half of Top Gear is neat as the drug deal and the manner in which the cab driver gets stuck is shown in an interesting way. The chase on the highway in the second half feels a bit leggy. The climax ends in a jiffy.
