Samantha Ruth Prabhu gave a shocking news to the world recently when she opened up about her fight with myositis. While she was gearing up for the promotions of her next, Yashoda, the actress took to her social media to share a heartfelt note with her fans, making them aware about her condition while also thanking them for all the love they were showering on the trailer of Yashoda. While the whole industry has been wishing Samantha a speedy recovery, her Yashoda co-star Unni Mukundan also opened up on her condition.
Unni will be seen in the sci-fi thriller alongside the actress and in a recent interview with Hindustan Times, he spoke about Samantha’s condition, sharing, “I didn’t know about it while we were shooting. Samantha was very professional. She never revealed that she was fighting such a condition. I felt sad after seeing Samantha’s post. She’ll fight Myositis and come back in good health.”
Not just that, he also went on to rave about her as a co-star, praising her professionalism and talent. He said, “Samantha is a very dedicated and hard working actress. She has prepared a lot for her role that includes the fights, action and emotional scenes. She would interact well with other artistes on set. We discussed ideas on how we could improvise the action in a scene.”
For the unversed, Samantha had posted a note on October 29 sharing her battle with myositis, a disease that causes inflammation in muscles, causing weakness, fatigue amongst other symptoms. She had written on Instagram, “Your response to the Yashodha Trailer was overwhelming. It is this love and connection that I share with all of you, that gives me the strength to deal with the seemingly unending challenges that life throws at me. A few months back I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis. I was hoping to share this after it had gone into remission. But it is taking a little longer than I hoped. I am slowly realising that we don’t always need to put up a strong front. Accepting this vulnerability is something that I am still struggling with. The doctors are confident that I will make a complete recovery very soon. I have had good days and bad days…. physically and emotionally…. and even when it feels like I can’t handle one more day of this, somehow that moment passes. I guess it can only mean that I am one more day closer to recovery. I love you.. THIS TOO SHALL PASS (sic)”.
