Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s daughter Vamika: Anushka and Virat welcomed their baby girl Vamika on January 11, 2020. They named her Vamika which means a form of the Hindu goddess Durga. The name originates from Vamadeva, the preserving aspect of lord Shiva. Goddess Durga is also considered to be the other half of Lord Shiva.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s son Taimur Ali Khan: Kareena and Saif embraced parenthood when they Taimur came into this world. Reportedly, Taimur is named after the founder of the Timurid Empire in Persia, in the 14th century, Emperor Timur. Taimur also means ‘iron’ in Arabic.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas: Priyanka and Nick Jonas welcomed their first child, a Baby girl, earlier this year, via surrogacy. They named the little one Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Malti is the Sanskrit origin which means small fragrant flower or moonlight. Marie means star of the sea as per the Latin Stella Maris. But, Marie also has a biblical connection. It means Mary, mother of Christ Jesus, in French.

Sanjay Dutt and Manyatta Dutt’s daughter Iqra: Sanjay’s daughter Iqra is a Hebrew name which means ‘to learn or educate’.

Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder’s son Czar: Farah and Shirish were blessed with triplets, Anya, Diva and Czar. Though Anya and Diva are sweet names, it is Czar that grabbed everyone’s attention. The name comes from the Latin word ’emperor’.

Kalki Koechlin and Guy Hershberg’s daughter Sappho: Kalki and her Israeli boyfriend welcomed Sappho in February this year. Sappho is named after the Greek poet who wrote in 600 BC.
