The trailer begins with Tess (Campbell) coming to her suburban Airbnb house on a rainy night with no way out. After the doorbell rings, a man named Keith (Skarsgard) answers the door, informing the young woman that he is currently renting the house, even though he booked it a month in advance. Tess decides to stay home with Keith, and with an old-school romantic song, it looks like it might actually be a meet-cute set in a romantic comedy. That is until Campbell’s character wakes up in the middle of the night to strange footsteps and there is no trace of Keith.
Tess soon decides to go to explore the basement of the house, and she finds a strange back door that can only be opened with a rope. As the trailer progresses, Tess finds people including Keith trapped in an underground prison in the basement. An eerie voice begins at the end of the trailer, with a robotic female voice saying “This process may sound overwhelming.”
