Bigg Boss 16 contestants Shalin Bhanot and Tina Datta have made headlines ever since they marked their entry in the controversial house. Their equation with each other and friendship has been amongst the most talked about topic on national television. During a Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Bigg Boss 16 host Salman Khan has asked Datta, “Tina konsa game khel rahi aur kiske saath.”
Ahead of the family week on Bigg Boss 16, we sat down with Shalin’s mother, Sunita Bhanot for a candid chat. In an exclusive interview with us, Sunita Bhanot, mother of Bigg Boss 16 contestant Shalin Bhanot reacted to his friendship with Tina Datta. She also expressed how she feels about their friendship and if it is ‘fake’.
Mother of Shalin Bhanot talks about his friendship with Tina Datta!
Opening up about Shalin’s bond with Tina, Sunita Bhanot told Bollywood Bubble, “I think, from day one, Shalin was feeling, treating her (Tina Datta) as a friend. And, he really maintained that stand, absolutely. From day one, till date. He stood by her. He has really really, whenever she got hurt, he felt it and helped her. He showed his friendship. Nothing but friendship.”
She added, “But, I think, because of the circumstances which we cannot understand as we are outside. Let’s see how it goes with the equation. I will go inside and find out what is what.”
When asked if she feels Tina is faking her friendship with Shalin, Sunita Bhanot said, “When you take someone like a friend, you always say, ‘Aise toh ho hi nahi sakta. Its not possible’. If someone tells you, you don’t believe.”
The Bigg Boss 16 contestant’s mother added, “Shalin might be having that in mind. He might be thinking, ‘No, she’s good. She’s nice’. He’s not believing it. Because, when you make a friend, it’s not to play. And there’s no value of relationship and depth of relationship. He’s maintaining his stand and believing in that.”

Mrs Bhanot also recalled the time when Salman questioned Tina about being ‘fake’. Reacting to the same, she said, “When Salman ji was telling him that she’s (Tina) fake and she’s playing with you. Because, he was unable to believe it. He is not getting it as we are as a viewer. He doesn’t know.”

For the unversed, after Salman had asked Datta, “Tina konsa game khel rahi aur kiske saath,” Shalin spoke in her support. He told Khan, “Don’t say that. Don’t be hard on her”. Salman then replied, “You want brownie points”.
