In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress opened up on how people dissuaded her from taking the decisions that she did.
Mita Vasisht said, “The bravest thing that I have done in terms of my career was to work with. I am talking about in terms of my career, not about my decision to be an actor. In terms of my career yes, my first major film was to do for a director called Mani Kaul. I was advised by everyone who called themself my well-wishers not to do a film with him. Because they said, he will ruin your career. He is not an actor’s director and if you want to get an award for acting and be well-known then these are the other director you should be working with but not him.”
She added, “But I chose to work with him, as my second major film as my first was a short film. But I chose to work with him so in some ways that are the beginning of how I have always fielded my career. Not as something that’s a business but something that’s a calling. As something that is a part of my spirit. Where I feel that whenever I try to make material out of it I get one solid Kick on the butt from the universe. Right there as there is no afterlife that ok have done something bad then will be punished later. Right then things don’t work out for me. I think my first decisions are all based on working in the industry where name fame and glamour were very important. But these are the three things I never, ever chased. Made the decision that was actually supposed to be very detrimental for these.”
